42 - 0866 Removal and installation of measuring ring on front wheel hub
Preceding work:
Remove front wheel hub (33-0100)
1 Wheel hub and brake disc check
2 Measuring ring check
3 Tapered roller bearing check, grease
4 Radial shaft sealing ring replace
Special tools
Removal
1 Withdraw inner tapered roller bearing and radial shaft sealing ring from wheel hub using (1 + 2).

2 Put on (3).

3 Mount (4).

4 Screw (5) on to (4).
(5) 001 589 36 33 00
5 Screw on (6) and tighten.
6 Pull off measuring ring.

Assembly
1 Heat up measuring ring to 250°C.
Note
Check temperature using thermal chalk or electronic temperature measuring equipment.
2 Place measuring ring on (7).

3 Mount wheel hub with assembled brake disc and allow to cool down.
Note
Cooling period approx. 3 min.
4 Remove wheel hub, thoroughly grease wheel bearing and install.
5 Drive home radial shaft sealing ring using (8).
