18 Oil pressure
Complaint: Oil pressure drops at high speed to approx. 2 bar and oil level indicator lamp lights up. Engines 602, 603 |
Provisional remedy:
a) Check oil level.
b) Reduce maximum oil level by approx. 0.25 - 0.5 l by draining oil from sump and filling into graduated beaker.
Reduced capacities (without oil filter):

c) For engine 602, install dipstick with brown handle part no. 602 010 02 72.
18 Oil leak at oil filter
Complaint: Oil leak at O-ring of oil filter cap. Engines 601, 602, 603 |
Cause/remedy:
Oil leak at seal between top and bottom sections of oil filter
There are 2 faces ground into the top collar (arrows) to enable the oil pressure relieve valve in oil pump to open.
If these faces do not exist, the oil pressure relieve valve cannot open the relieve port and an overpressure is produced.
Renew oil pressure relieve valve in oil pump.
