In response to an express customer request, we have conducted the activation (coded) of a non-genuine Mercedes-Benz retrofit. Technical acceptance and function test are not part of this procedure.
that any damage arising as a result of this retrofit on the vehicle mentioned above is excluded from the warranty and goodwill as well as any warranty claims against the vehicle manufacturer (Daimler AG).
This may also be the case when, because of the retrofit, essential peripheral components were not adapted to correspond with the utilization characteristics in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
In addition to this, Daimler AG shall not accept any liability, express warranty, goodwill or warranty for the third-party product. For any faults that occur because of an installation, or damage occasioned by the installation, the customer/legal vehicle owner shall contact the company who installed the third-party product in the vehicle.
This form is to be kept along with the vehicle documentation. In the event of a vehicle resell, the new owner is to be clearly notified of the circumstances.
If a warranty claim exists, which is connected to work conducted by independent garages or to the use of non-genuine Mercedes-Benz parts, then this can only be granted after additional checks.
This means that Daimler AG has no influence regarding adherence to Mercedes-Benz specifications for independent garages and for non-genuine Mercedes-Benz parts - in contrast to Mercedes-Benz Service Partners and genuine Mercedes-Benz parts.
