A distinction is made between the following procedures:
Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system)
Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system)
Speaker output in vehicles except CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) and except CODE 810 (Sound system)
Speaker actuation in the event of voice output

Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system)
The audio signals are routed from the audio equipment via MOST to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3), where they are amplified and output via the following speakers using direct lines:
Center instrument panel speaker (H4/27)
Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)
Right rear surround speaker (H4/55) (model 212.2)
Right rear surround speaker (H4/57) (model 212.0)
Left front door sound system bass speaker (H4/64)
Right front door sound system bass speaker (H4/65)
Left front door sound system tweeter (H4/68)
Right front door sound system tweeter (H4/69)
Left rear door sound system tweeter (H4/70)
Right rear door sound system tweeter (H4/71)
Left front door sound system midrange speaker (H4/72)
Right front door sound system midrange speaker (H4/73)
Left rear door sound system midrange speaker (H4/80)
Right rear door sound system midrange speaker (H4/81)
For the bass speaker (H4/17) (model 212.0) or the bass speaker (H4/29) (model 212.2) the audio signal is routed from the audio equipment to the sound system amplifier control unit via MOST and from there to the woofer via the rear bass speaker amplifier (N40/9) using direct lines.
Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system)
The audio signals are forwarded to the sound system amplifier control unit by the audio equipment via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST), where they are amplified and output via the following speakers using direct lines:
Left front door speaker (H4/1)
Right front door speaker (H4/2)
Left front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/23)
Right front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/24)
Center instrument panel speaker
Left rear surround speaker
Right rear surround speaker
Left rear door sound system tweeter
Right rear door sound system tweeter
Left rear door speaker (H4/3) (as of 2.3.15)
Right rear door speaker (H4/4) (as of 2.3.15)
Woofer (as of 2.3.15)

On vehicles up to 1.3.15, the sound system amplifier control unit forwards the audio signals for the speakers listed below to the rear woofer amplifier. The rear woofer amplifier actuates the following speakers via direct lines:
Left rear door speaker
Right rear door speaker
Woofer
Left front door sound system woofer
Right front door sound system woofer
On vehicles as of 2.3.15, illumination for the left and right front door speakers, mirror triangle, is actuated by the sound system amplifier control unit.
On vehicles up to 1.3.15, illumination of the left and right front door speakers, mirror triangle, is actuated by the woofer amplifier.
During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit reads in the signals of the sound system microphone (B25/6).
Speaker output in vehicles except CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) and except CODE 810 (Sound system)
The audio signals are output via the following speakers by the audio equipment using direct lines:
Left front door speaker
Left front door tweeter (H4/1h1)
Right front door speaker
Right front door tweeter (H4/2h1)
Left rear door speaker
Left rear door tweeter (H4/3h1)
Right rear door speaker
Right rear door tweeter (H4/4h1)
Speaker actuation in the event of voice output
Only the front speakers are actuated for voice output as part of the following functions:
Telephony
Emergency call system (with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system) or with CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system), with CODE 347 (Ecall Europe emergency call system) or with CODE 350 (Ecall Europe emergency call system, Gen. 2))
Voice control system (with CODE 511 (Audio 50 APS with DVD changer), with CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer), with CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)) or with CODE 531 (COMAND APS))
Navigation (with CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer), with CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)) or with CODE 531 (COMAND APS); with CODE 357 (SD card navigation) or with CODE 509 (Navigation box))
In vehicles except CODE 810 (Sound system) and CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:
