Battery sensor

On-board electrical system battery

Location

The battery sensor is located at the negative pole of the battery.

Task

The battery sensor records the following values for the battery:

 Voltage

 Current

 Temperature

The battery sensor is connected in series between the negative pole of the battery and the ground point on the vehicle. The battery sensor uses the measurement values to calculate the internal resistance of the battery. A temperature sensor in the battery sensor records the temperature at the negative pole of the battery. On the basis of this value, the battery sensor calculates the temperature in the on-board electrical system battery.

The battery sensor on the on-board electrical system battery is networked with the central control unit or the front central control unit depending on the vehicle.
