B65 Coolant temperature sensor
Coolant temperature sensor location | The coolant temperature sensor (B65) is screwed into the coolant outlet pipe of the heat exchanger.
Coolant temperature sensor design | The coolant temperature sensor is designed as a PTC resistor (PT 1000), i.e. its resistance becomes higher as the temperature rises.
Coolant temperature sensor function | The coolant temperature sensor alters its resistance depending on the coolant temperature and therefore the adjacent voltage at the retarder control unit. The retarder control unit can assign a correct temperature to this voltage, on condition that the value is within the permissible range. |
