10B16 Oil pressure sensor

Arrangement of the oil pressure sensor

The engine oil pressure sensor (10B16) is located in the oil gallery, at engine block right side, below the oil cooler.

Function of the oil pressure sensor

The oil pressure sensor (10B16) records the engine oil pressure.

Operation of the oil pressure sensor

The engine oil pressure is recorded by the oil pressure sensor (10B16) which changes its output tension according to oil pressure. The sensor is supplied with 5 V tension, in case the engine oil pressure is below 6 bar (0.6 MPa), the sensor output tension will fall below 90% (4.5 V), the pressure will be normal when above 4.5 V, up to the 95% limit of the 5 V supply tension. The oil pressure sensor (10B16) is connected to the engine control module MR/PLD. The measuring value remains available through the engine CAN4 line to the vehicle control module FR, and through the vehicle CAN1 line to the other electronic systems.
