SCR AdBlue metering valve, component description

B14.40-0034-08

8 Metering unit

9 SCR AdBlue metering valve (17Y03)

Arrangement

The SCR AdBlue metering valve (9) is installed in the lower part of the metering unit (8) located, approximately, on the last engine cylinder head.

Task

The SCR AdBlue metering valve (9) is controlled by the engine control module (MR), and supplies AdBlue for the injection nozzle.

SCR AdBlue metering valve, component description

B14.40-0176-01

Composition

13 AdBlue inlet

14 AdBlue outlet

17Y03 SCR AdBlue metering valve

The SCR AdBlue metering valve (9) is a 2/2 directional valve. In the inside there is the valve body with a solenoid armature.

Function

The SCR AdBlue metering valve (9) is actuated by the control module (MR). This actuates the AdBlue metering valve (9), depending on the engine operating rate and other environmental influences.

The AdBlue actuates, with the service pressure generated by the AdBlue pump module, in the AdBlue metering valve body (9), normally closed. The pressure of an actuated spring, blocks the passage of AdBlue between the inlet (13) and the outlet (14).

When a current is applied on the valve solenoid, the AdBlue passage is opened. When the current is interrupted, the spring pushes the valve back to its initial position, blocking the passage again.
