Function in part load range
The fuel flows from the fuel feed pump (13) into the high pressure pump flange (19/20) (drilling b) and is passed from there to the quantity control valve (Y94) and to the fuel pressure relief valve (19/23).
The quantity control valve (Y94) controls the quantity of fuel which flows through the annular passage (19/21) to the three pump elements of the high pressure pump (feed 19/6) in line with the signals supplied by the CDI control unit (N3/9). The filling in the cylinder and thus also the quantity of fuel is varied accordingly. Control is performed only in the part load range.
