General aspects:
On the technical development board the ABS control modules were replaced by a new generation on the production period of November 2007.
The new ABS control modules are compatible with the existing ABS and ABS/ASR systems and offer additional functions, such as the flash software for diagnosis interface.
Changed ALB function:
On vehicles with up to 11.99 t total allowed weight and with 3-channel ABS (no ASR) the new ABS control module also takes the function of ALB regulator. Through the analysis of the rotation sensors of the rear axle wheel, it is know in advance, during braking, an eventual wheel skid. By the controlled emptying of the corresponding brake cylinder, through the respective electromagnetic ABS valve, a pressure reduction occurs during braking. By the regulating ALB function reproduced on the software, the ALB regulator can be omitted.
on the place of the ALB regulator, a relay valve is installed.
ABS control module - Versions
On the series, three device versions are installed:
3-channel ABS, with/without ALB adjustment
4-channel ABS, without ALB adjustment, without ASR
4-channel ABS, without ALB adjustment, with ASR
Parts supply
Only the 4-channel ABS, without ALB adjustment, with ASR, is offered as aftermarket part. It needs to be parametrized according to the vehicle.
The new ABS control module generation is not interchangeable with currently existing ABS control modules.
