As part of ongoing technical development, the following modifications have been made to the cylinder liner and on the collar seat of the cylinder crankcase:
Chamfer on the inner diameter of the collar seat on the cylinder crankcase, from engine end no. 035167
Groove for an additional upper sealing ring on the cylinder liner outside, from engine end no. 172123
For the engines a mixed installation of altered cylinder liner and the previous cylinder liner is permissible.

A Previous version
Cylinder liner (1) without groove.
B Modified version
Only the altered cylinder liner (2) with a groove (arrow C) will delivered with immediate effect.
An additional sealing ring (3) must be installed in the groove (arrow C).
Observe the installation position of the sealing ring (3) in the groove (arrow C), both chamfers (arrow C1, C2) must point outwards.

A Previous version
There is a flat chamfer (arrow D) on the inner diameter of the collar seat (3) in the cylinder crankcase.
B Modified version
There is a rounded chamfer (arrow D) on the inner diameter of the collar seat (4) on the cylinder crankcase.
For engines up to engine end no. 035166 one must check when installing the altered cylinder liner whether the rounded chamfer (arrow E) is present.
The rounded chamfer (arrow E) must be made if there is no rounded chamfer (arrow E) present like on the collar seat (4).
