Survey, wiring harness for timer
1 Connector, 12-pin for timer
2 Wire gr (illumination c.58)
3 Wire bk (c. 15)

Tie wires and wiring harnesses to present wiring harnesses with cable straps when routing. Avoid chafing points, attach chafe guard if necessary. Cut off or tie back excessively long wires or wiring harnesses.
1 Connect wiring harness leads for timer:
Route wires from wiring harness from driver's footwell below floor covering to driver's seat frame.
Connect gr wire (2) to a fuse location on the access cover on the seat frame connected to circuit 58.
Connect black wire (3) to a fuse location on the access cover on the seat frame connected to circuit 15.

Connect br wire (5) to central ground connection point at bottom of seat frame.
Connect rd wire (4) to fuse location (c. 30) on access cover on seat frame newly connected for connection of the heater wiring harness.

2 Connect air heater wiring harness leads to timer connector:
Remove 4-pin connector for control unit from air heater wiring harness.
Attach insert sleeves to connector wires.

Insert wires into connector (1) according to pin assignment for timer connector.

3 Install timer:
Make installation opening for timer in removed instrument cluster cover according to illustration.
a = 5.0 mm
b = 110.0 mm
c = 84.5 mm
d = 40.0 mm
Insert timer into installation opening.
Route wiring harness with 12-pin connector from driver's footwell along A-pillar upward to instrument cluster and in front of disconnected instrument cluster to center of instrument panel.
Connect 12-pin connector to timer.
Fasten instrument cluster and reattach instrument cluster cover.
