| Remove/install | ||
1 | Move respective front seat fully forward and fully upward. | ||
2 | Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery. | ||
3 | Unhook rubber holders (2) at bottom of seat cushion frame, and swivel seat backrest cover (3) upwards until seat cover rail (4) is accessible. | ||
4 | Release seat cover rail (4) from seat cover holder (5) on seat backrest cover (3) at bottom. | ||
5 | Open zipper (6) on both sides and swivel seat backrest cover (3) upwards until side airbag (13) is accessible. | ||
6 | Remove side airbag electrical plug (8). | ||
7 | Remove nuts (9). | ||

Installation: Attach new nuts (9). | |||

8 | Lift up seat backrest padding (11) at side, remove side airbag (13) from seat backrest frame and remove side airbag (13) from check strap (10). | ||
9 | Remove side airbag electrical wiring harness and retaining clips (12) from seat cushion frame, and remove side airbag (13) from seat cushion frame. | Installation: Ensure correct seating of the side airbag electrical wiring harness and the retaining clips (12) from the seat cushion frame. | |
10 | Dispose of removed side airbag (13) properly. | If the side airbag (13) was replaced. | |
11 | Install in the reverse order. | ||

12 | Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system. | If the side airbag (13) was replaced. | |
