2 | Remove left engine hood lock upper section (3) and right engine hood lock upper section (3) | ||
3 | Loosen bolts (6) for engine hood (1) on hinge (5), adjust engine hood (1) and then tighten bolts (6) | If gap dimensions deviate, see: | |

4 | Position engine hood (1) on stop buffer (7) | ||
5 | Check engine hood (1) fit in relation to front fender and adjust stop buffer (7) if required | Adjust stop buffer (7) so that engine hood (1) is not distorted, see: | |

6 | Install left engine hood lock upper section (3) and right engine hood lock upper section (3) | | |
7 | Install spiral spring | ||
8 | Check whether engine hood lock is locked, for this purpose close engine hood (1) and pull upward with a jerk. | Engine hood must (1) fall automatically into the engine hood catch from a height of 100 - 130 mm (measured above fender tip) and lock. | |
9 | Release engine hood (1) and check whether retaining hood on upper frame cross member is arrested. | Release lever should be visible for min. 9 mm. |
