Remove/install

1.1

Move selector lever to rearmost position.

Move gearshift lever to rearmost position.

Remove cover at selector lever.

Detach boot of gearshift lever from center console and pull over shift lever knob.

Release center console and place slightly toward rear with connected electric lines.

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove glove compartment housing.

Remove differential lock control unit.

Unclip retaining clip (1) from strut (2).

Remove footwell trim on front passenger side.

Remove footwell vent (3) on front passenger side.

Release velcro fasteners of floor covering (4) in front area of front passenger footwell and fold over floor covering (4) toward rear.

Remove bolts (5).

Remove screw/bolts (6).

Pull strut (2) carefully away from transmission tunnel and pull PTC heater booster (7) out of air conditioner housing far enough until the electrical connector (8) can be disconnected.


Pull the strut (2) away carefully and do not deform it permanently.
Otherwise the strut (2) will be damaged.

Disconnect electrical connector (8).

Pull strut (2) carefully away from transmission tunnel and pull PTC heater booster (7) out of air conditioner housing.


Pull the strut (2) away carefully and do not deform it permanently.
Otherwise the strut (2) will be damaged.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Perform function check on PTC heater booster (7).
