Notes on handling refrigerant R134a | |||
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove the fan cowl. | ||
Place the coolant expansion reservoir with attached coolant hoses to one side, do not remove completely. | |||
2 | Remove poly-V-belt. | ||
3 | Remove low pressure refrigerant line from refrigerant compressor (1). | ||
4 | Remove high pressure refrigerant line from refrigerant compressor (1). | ||
5 | Unscrew bolts (3). | Bolt, refrigerant compressor to major assembly carrier for refrigerant compressor | |
Danger | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. | |
6 | Lift vehicle with lifting platform. | ||

7 | Remove bolts (4, 5). | The bolt (4) is too long to pull out and therefore it remains on the refrigerant compressor (1). | |
Bolt, refrigerant compressor to major assembly carrier for refrigerant compressor | |||
8 | Remove refrigerant compressor (1) forwards from the major assembly carrier until the electrical connector (2) is accessible. | ||
9 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) and remove refrigerant compressor (1) forwards and down out of the engine compartment. | ||
10 | Pull bolt (4) out of refrigerant compressor (1). | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order |
