Unhook electrical wiring harness (1)

 If necessary, remove cable ties.

 Installation: If necessary, replace cable ties.

Carefully unclip heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98) and pull upwards

 Heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98), depending on equipment installed.

Pull heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98) out of guides

Vehicles except code HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control)

 Heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98), depending on equipment installed.

 Installation: Align rotary knob and check for correct seating.

Disconnect electrical connectors from heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98)

 If necessary, release electrical connectors first.

Unclip guides from rotary regulators and modify

When replacing heater operating unit (2) or air conditioning operating unit (S98), on vehicles except code HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control)

Install in the reverse order

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and normalize blend air flap actuator motor

When replacing the air conditioning operating unit (S98), on vehicles with code HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control), with code HH9 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC)


