Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Remove AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) from bracket.

Remove upper engine cover.

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.

Remove air deflector at reinforcement.

Remove retaining clips of radiator package at reinforcement.

Remove all coolant hoses at cooler and at low-temperature circuit cooler.

Seal openings using protective cover.

Release and disconnect electrical connection from fan unit.

Unclip coolant pipe from fan unit.

Unclip low-temperature circuit switchover valve(Y73/1) from fan unit.

Release and disconnect electrical connector from refrigerant pressure sensor (B12).

Remove refrigerant lines (3) from condenser (1) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

Remove brackets (2).

 Installation: Observe installation position of brackets(2).

Remove radiator package downwards.

 Aid of helper required.

Unclip air duct insert(arrows) at side from radiator package.

Unclip retaining frame of additional cooler from radiator package.

Unclip condenser (1) from radiator package and remove.

24

Install in the reverse order.
