Remove/install

Move selector or gearshift lever to rearmost position

Apply parking brake lever

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

Unclip frame of gearshift lever boot from center console (2)

Unclip covers (6) with a suitable tool

Remove bolts (7)

Unclip covers (8) with a suitable tool

Remove screw/bolts (9)

Pull center console (2) as far as possible toward rear from instrument panel

Position protective cover between center console (2) and instrument panel cover (5)


Protective cover must cover instrument panel cover (5) up to upper control panel.
Damage to surface of instrument panel cover (5) can otherwise occur during installation and removal of trim (1).

Unclip trim (1) in area of retaining clips (1.1) from center console (2) and remove until electrical connectors (12, 13) can be accessed

Disconnect electrical connector (12) at operating unit for climate control (3)

Disconnect electrical connectors (13) on rear of lower trim at front center console (4)

 The number of electrical connectors (13) can vary depending on the vehicle equipment.

Remove trim panel (1)

Remove operating unit for climate control (3)

When replacing trim (1).

Install in the reverse order



Check

Perform function test of control elements integrated in trim (1) and the 12 V socket
