2 | Remove cover on right below dashboard | ||
3 | Remove cover (1) on instrument panel | Long wedge | |
4 | Detach plug cap (2) from instrument panel | Separate cable tie. | |
Installation: Replace cable ties. | |||
5 | Remove electrical multipoint connector from plug cap (2) | Separate cable tie. | |
Installation: Replace cable ties. | |||
6 | Disconnect tachograph electrical connector (X2/5) | ||
7 | Detach electrical line for Hall sensor (3) from existing electrical wiring harness | Separate cable tie. | |
Installation: Replace cable ties. | |||
8 | Remove rubber grommet (4) behind cable duct (5) from body floor | Pull floor covering aside. Open cover on cable duct (5). | |
Installation: Pay attention to correct installation position of rubber grommet (4). | |||
9 | Detach rear engine compartment paneling at the bottom | Only on model 639.7 as of VIN 055347 | |
10 | Remove electrical line for Hall sensor (3) downwards through opening in body floor | ||
11 | Detach rubber grommet (4) from electrical line for Hall sensor (3) | Installation: Pay attention to correct installation position of rubber grommet (4). | |
12 | Detach electrical line for Hall sensor (3) from transmission | Separate cable tie. | |
Installation: Replace cable ties. | |||
13 | Remove Hall sensor bolt (output rotational speed) from transmission (6) | | |
14 | Detach speed Hall sensor (B6/6) from transmission. | ||
15 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Checking | ||
16 | Check speedometer for proper operation. | Conduct a road test. |
