Adjust refractometer (5) to determine the AdBlue® concentration.

Remove a small amount of AdBlue® from the AdBlue® container with a siphon.

 See information from body manufacturer

Place one to two drops of AdBlue® on the prism (1) of the refractometer (5).


Ensure that other parts of the refractometer (5) do not come into contact with AdBlue®.
The refractometer (5) can get damaged otherwise.

 Closing the hinged lid (2) causes the AdBlue® to be distributed evenly.

See through the eyepiece (4) against a light background.

 Bring scales into focus by turning eyepiece (4).

Read off measurement value at the light/dark boundary of the AdBlue® scale (B).

If the AdBlue® concentration is less than the specified urea concentration,



replace AdBlue®.

Carefully clean any AdBlue® residues from the prism (1) and the hinged lid (2).


Ensure that other parts of the refractometer (5) do not come into contact with AdBlue®.
The refractometer (5) can get damaged otherwise.

 Only water without any addition of cleaning agent should be used to clean.
