Remove/install

Open liftgate

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove filter housing cover (1) with main fuel filter (2)



Replace fuel filter

 Only perform operation steps for removal/installation of the lid. Do not replace the filter.

Disconnect fuel line (3)



 Collect escaping fuel.

Installation: Install new sealing rings (4).

Remove fuel lines (5, 6, 7)



 Collect escaping fuel.

Installation: Install new sealing rings (8).

Remove bolts (17) and detach main fuel filter housing (9)



Install in the reverse order

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and inspect fuel system for leaks

 If the engine does not start after 30 s, wait
1 min. before repeating attempt at starting.

Turn off engine

Close engine compartment flap at rear
