Remove/install fuel pump and fuel level sensor

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove fuel tank (1)

Unlock fuel feed line (3) and fuel return line (4) on fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6) and detach

Unscrew union nut (6) on fuel tank (1)



Remove fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6) from fuel tank (1)

 Carefully lift fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6) upward and out. Reroute fuel hoses, electrical lines and float for tank sensor. Do not damage detachable parts on fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6).



Install

Insert fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6) into fuel tank (1)

 Clean sealing surfaces and replace gasket.

Check fuel hoses, electrical lines and floaters of fuel level sensor for damage, if necessary, replace fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6).

Place union nut (6) on fuel tank (1) in such a way that the marking (7) coincides with initial marking (8)

 Replace union nut (6).

Continue to turn union nut (6) using torque wrench from this position by about 1.5 revolutions until marking (7) stands on end marking (9)

 The checking torque must reach between tolerance markings (10).



Place fuel feed line (3) and fuel return line (4) on fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/6) and lock in position

Install fuel tank (1)
