Pushing off

1 Undo self-locking nut of tie rod joint (10a).

2  Mount thrust piece (045).

3 Pry off tie rod joint (10a) using puller (044).

 Do not damage the rubber boot, otherwise lubricant will be discharged from the tie rod joint (10a). This results in increased wear.

4 Remove puller (044) and  thrust piece (045).

Attaching

5 Clean tapered connection.

 There must not be any grease or oil on the cone or thread, otherwise the tie rod joint (10a) could work loose.

6 Replace self-locking nut and tighten. If necessary, counterhold ball head using an Allen wrench.
