A20 Retarder control (RS) control unit

1 | Copy parameters for retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) into another unit | Only when the retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) is to be replaced and if the parameters for the current retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) can still be read out. | |
2 | Switch off ignition | ||
3 | Remove footwell cover, passenger side (3) | Loosen quick-release fittings (2) in direction of arrow and remove footwell cover on passenger side (3). | |
4 | Remove lower instrument panel cover (1) on passenger-side | Remove screws, unclip lower instrument panel cover (1) at top and remove. | |
5 | Disconnect electrical connector from diagnostic socket (X13) | For this step, pull the locking frame for the diagnostic socket (X13) to the side. | |
6 | Detach cable ties from subharness for retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) | ||
7 | Detach electrical connectors from retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) | ||
8 | Remove retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) | To do so, push the retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) into the rear bracket and unhook upwards from front bracket. | |
9 | Install in the reverse order | ||
10 | Parameterize retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) | Only when the retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) was replaced and if the parameters for the current retarder control (RS) control unit (A20) could no longer be read out. | |
