Release parking brake

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Release counternut (1) and adjusting nut (2) on cable slack adjuster (4)

Detach brake cable (3) from cable slack adjuster (4)

Lower vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove left cover below dashboard

Remove paneling in left footwell

Remove rotary light switch

Remove cable from release handle

Operate parking brake pedal (6), release again then detach brake cable (3) from parking brake pedal assembly (5)

 Operating and then releasing the parking brake pedal (6) pulls the brake cable (3) forward.

 Pull floor covering to one side.

Disconnect electrical connector from parking brake indicator switch (S12)

Remove screws securing foot-operated parking brake to A-pillar holder (7)

 Foot-operated parking brake to A-pillar bracket

Fully depress parking brake pedal (6) and remove brake cable (3) from parking brake pedal assembly (5)

 Snap-release tool

Detach release handle cable (8) from parking brake pedal assembly (5)

Remove parking brake pedal assembly (5)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check parking brake

 If necessary, adjust parking brake,

