1 | Release parking brake | ||
Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position the four support plates below support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. | |
2 | Position the wheel gripper under the wheels | ||
3 | Raise vehicle evenly | ||
4 | Secure vehicle at the inner vehicle jack contact points at the front and rear with jack stands | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load | Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary. | |
5 | Remove threaded rod (1) from wheel brake cylinder (4) | So that the connection between clevis and linkage adjuster (5) is no longer under tension. | |
6 | Operate parking brake | So that the spring actuator part of the wheel brake cylinder (4) is bled. | |
7 | Detach compressed air lines from wheel brake cylinder (4) | Installation: Replace the gaskets. | |
8 | Detach clevis from linkage adjuster (5) | Installation: Replace cotter pin. | |
9 | Detach wheel brake cylinder (4) from bracket | Model 671 with rear axle 748.12/13 | |

10 | Install in the reverse order | ||
11 | Carry out function check on service and parking brakes | ||
