Detach floating brake caliper (34) from brake caliper support (33)

 

Disassemble/assemble

Press out piston (47) carefully with compressed air, possibly remove piston using piston-rotating pliers

If necessary assemble with pliers.

 Model 202.033/093, model 208.374, model 210.072 with CODE 957 E 50 AMG 210.074/274 a 2-piston floating brake caliper is installed.

If piston (47) is rusted tight (47), replace floating brake caliper (34).

 Installation: Coat cylinder bore with brake fluid.

Remove dust cap (45) from floating brake caliper (34)

 Installation: Put dust cap (45) over piston (47) and insert into cylinder bore together with piston. In the piston slide in the piston with both hands.

Ensure correct seating.

The floating brake caliper and repair kit must be from the same manufacturer.

Remove piston seal (50) from groove in cylinder bore.

 Installation: Rub the new piston seal (50) with brake fluid.

 The floating brake caliper (34) and repair kit must be from the same manufacturer.

Check piston (47) and cylinder bore of floating brake caliper (34), replace if necessary



Notes if piston or cylinder bore are damaged on fixed or floating caliper

Remove/replace plastic guide bushes (34f)

Assemble in the reverse order
