Check

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.

Lift wheels of appropriate axle from floor.

Clean component parts in area of measuring points and remove paint from measuring points.



Secure auxiliary construction (2) at frame using C-clamps.

Position dial indicator holder (3) with dial indicator (4) on auxiliary construction (2).

Pre-tension dial indicator (4) and position on corresponding measuring point.

Check concentricity of propeller shaft (1) and lateral trueness of corresponding flange.



 Repeat operation steps 3 to 5 for all measuring points.
During the measurement, the wheels may only be turned by hand to ensure faulty measurements are avoided.

If specified values for lateral trueness are not reached:



Replace corresponding flange or have propeller shaft repaired by a propeller shaft manufacturer.

If specified values for concentricity are not reached:



Mark highest point on propeller shaft, remove propeller shaft from corresponding flange and attach again, offset by 180°. Then check concentricity of drive shaft again.

If value has shifted in comparison to marking:



Have propeller shaft repaired by a propeller shaft manufacturer.

If value remains unchanged at the same point:



Replace corresponding propeller shaft flange.
