1 | Shift transmission into neutral or idle position. | ||
2 | Release parking brake. | ||
3 | Raise vehicle. | ||

4 | Mark position of propeller shaft (1) relative to flange on rear axle differential. | ||
5 | Remove bolts (2) . | When doing so, counterhold nuts. | |
6 | Unscrew nuts (3). | ||
7 | Remove propeller shaft (1) with propeller shaft intermediate bearing. | Aid of helper required. | |

8 | Clean gearing of propeller shaft (1). | Assembly cleaner | |
| Check | ||
9 | Check gearing of propeller shaft (1) for damage. | If corresponding findings are present, | |

replace drive shaft (1). | |||
| Install | ||
10 | Position propeller shaft (1) with propeller shaft intermediate bearing. | Aid of helper required. | |

11 | Slide propeller shaft (1) into transmission. | ||
12 | Screw in screw/bolts (2). | When doing so, counterhold nuts. | |
