Perform following operation step only for propeller shaft intermediate bearing version with protective caps (4).
1 Drive protective cap (4) using drift onto universal joint (8) of front propeller shaft.
Use drift 906 589 00 15 00.
Note installation position of protective cap (4).

2 Drive propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3) using drift flush onto universal joint (8) of front propeller shaft.
Use drift 711 589 01 15 00.
Make sure when removing a propeller shaft intermediate bearing with shim (7) that the new propeller shaft intermediate bearing is also installed with a shim (7). If this is not observed humming, droning and starting noise may be heard.

Perform the following operation steps only for the propeller shaft intermediate bearing version with protective caps (6) and if the protective cap (6) was removed.
3 Clamp propeller shaft (7) onto rigid part of universal joint in vise.
4 Drive protective cap (6) using drift up to end stop on propeller shaft (7).
Use drift 906 589 02 15 00.
Note installation position of protective cap (6).
