21.2.01 | Test values changed for vehicle level at front axle
21.2.01 | Test values changed for vehicle level at rear axle |
1 | Observe general information on chassis alignment check. | After repair work, rock the vehicle vigorously several times to settle the suspension prior to measurement.
With Code 612 xenon headlamp, alter centering disk of measuring plate for electronic inclination meter.
| Alter centering disk of measuring plate for electronic inclination meter. | Model Series 163 | |
2 | Install measuring plate (086b) in the recess in the lower wishbone. | With Code 612 xenon headlamp, unscrew bolt (4a) until it no longer protrudes (arrow) at the lower wishbone (4). The groove in the measuring plate (086b) should be at an angle of 90° to the direction of travel. Clean measurement point at lower wishbone. Remove metal shavings on the measuring plate. The measuring plate is magnetic. Information on data media, e.g. floppy disks, credit cards etc., could be rendered unusable.
3 | Check vehicle level at front axle via the wishbone inclination. | Install measuring sensor (086a) (connection cable points to center of vehicle) and store measured value. Measurement point 1 left front. Right front measurement point 2
4 | Check vehicle level on rear axle via rear axle shaft inclination . | Position measuring sensor (086a) on left and right rear axle shaft (connection cable points to center of vehicle) and store measured value in each case. Clean measurement points on rear axle shaft. Left rear measurement point 3 Measurement point 4 right rear.
5.1 | Vehicle level outside tolerance at front axle | Adjust vehicle level via rear torsion bar spring mount.
6.1 | Vehicle level outside tolerance at rear axle | Adjust vehicle level by changing the springs. |
