Raise vehicle until the wheels to be tested can be turned, then secure with jack stands

Clean sidewall of tire

Attach dial indicator (2), dial indicator holder (3) and check roller (1), e.g. to a jack stand, and position on tire so that the lateral wheel runout can then be measured

 The check roller (1) must not be rolled in the area bearing the inscriptions on the tire.

Turn wheel by hand, note the values displayed on the dial indicator (2), and determine a value for the lateral runout
