Detach

1

Detach complete wheel

AR40.10-P-1100RQ

2.1

Detach wheel balance weight (43a) using assembly tool

With clamped wheel balance weight (43a)

Assembly tool

*124589176300

2.2

Remove wheel balance weight (43a) using removal tool

With bonded wheel balance weight (43a)

Do not use hard, pointed or sharp-edged tools.
Otherwise the surface of the disk wheels may be damaged.

3

Remove valve element from valve (43g)

4

Drain TIREFIT sealant out of tires

After using TIREFIT tire sealant

AR40.10-P-1080RG

5

Position the press-off blade of the tire mounting device on the tire bead flank

Do not position bead breaker shovel on tire sidewall.
The carcass can be damaged otherwise.

Do not position bead breaker shovel on the inner and outer side of the tire near the valve (43g).
The valve (43g) and/or tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) can be damaged otherwise.

Do not position the bead breaker shovel opposite the bead edge of the valve (43g).
The tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) may be damaged otherwise.

6

Press inner and outer bead flank over safety bead seats and into drop center of disk wheel

7

Fasten disk wheel on tire mounting device

8

Apply coating of assembly paste onto disk wheel flange and tire beads

Do not grease the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise the tire pressure sensor may malfunction.

9

Position disk wheel on the tire mounting device

Position the disk wheel such that the valve (43g) is behind the mounting head as seen from the direction of rotation (arrow) of the 10 cm disk wheel.

10

Align mounting head at small distances (X, Y) to disk wheel

11.1

Use assembly lever to lever the tire beads over the mounting lug of the mounting head and detach the tire from the disk wheel

For tires without emergency running characteristics.

Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise it will be damaged.

11.2

Position hold-down tool on upper side of bead edge and press tire into drop center, then position hold-down tool on lower side and remove tire

For run-flat tires.

Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise it will be damaged.

Check

12

Check condition of disk wheel

AR40.10-P-1010-01A

13

Check tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) and valve body (3) in the installed condition for damage

Do not retighten union nut (2).
The tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) will be damaged otherwise.

Only use plastic valve caps.
Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.

If the union nut (2) or the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) is obviously loose or if damage is visible, the affected tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) must be replaced.

Replace tire sensor.

AR40.15-P-0080EW

Clean

14

Clean tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4)

Only remove dirt with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not use compressed air, solvents or cleaners.
The tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) will be damaged otherwise.

Attach

15

Apply coating of assembly paste to shoulders of disk wheel and tire bead of new tire

Do not grease the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise the tire pressure sensor may malfunction.

16

Position disk wheel on the tire mounting device

Position the disk wheel so that the valve (43g) is approximately 180° opposite the mounting head.

17

Place new tire at an angle on disk wheel and align mounting head at small distances (X, Y) to disk wheel

Observe running direction on unidirectional tires. Observe the markings indicating the inside and outside of the tire. On vehicles with mixed tires observe the correct assignment of the tire to disk wheel.

18.1

Pull tire over shoulder onto disk wheel with tire mounting device

For tires without emergency running characteristics.

Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise it will be damaged.

Load the tire beads as little as possible.

18.2

Position hold-down tool on bead edge, push tire into drop center, then position the bead protector at the traction point, and pull tire using tire mounting device over the flange onto the disk wheel

For run-flat tires.

Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise it will be damaged.

Load the tire beads as little as possible.

19

Align the match points of the tire and disk wheel relative to one another

20

Remove disk wheel together with tire from tire mounting device

21

Remove valve element from valve (43g)

22

Inflate tires

The tire pressure must not exceed 3.3 bar.
Otherwise the tire bead may be damaged.

The tire bead must slip uniformly over the rim shoulder.

23

Turn valve element into valve (43g)

24

Correct tire inflation pressure

See tire pressure values in the vehicle's fuel filler flap.

25

Balance complete wheel
