Remove the wheels

Remove the holder with the brake caliper

Remove the cap (10) of the wheel hub (4)

Unlock the lock (8) and remove the grooved nuts (7, 9)

Remove the stop washer (6)

Remove wheel hub (4)

Remove the inner tapered roller bearing (3) and the outer tapered roller bearing (5)



Check

Check the tapered roller bearings (3, 5)

 Inspect the tapered roller bearings (3, 5) for wear, chippings, or crackings. Bathe the tapered roller bearings (3, 5) in oil and wrap them with a clean, lint-free cloth or in a paper, to protect them up to the moment of assembly.

If any of the tapered roller bearings (3, 5) presents any damage or wear:



Replace this with a new one.

 It is recommended to replace both tapered roller bearings (3, 5) along with their respective outer race rings on the wheel hub (4).

Check the conditions of the friction surface of the race ring (1)

 Clean the surface of the wheel head for installation of the race ring (1).

If the race ring (1) presents damages or tread grooves on the friction surface:



Replace this with a new one.



Install

Install the seal ring (2)

 Use a new seal ring (2). Grease the seal ring (2).

Install the inner tapered roller bearing (3)

 Lubricate with lubricating grease. Apply the specified grease quantity.

Assemble wheel hub (4)

 Take care during installation to not damage the seal ring (2) or the thread of the stub axle.

 Grease the friction surface of the race ring (1) and seal ring (2).

Install the outer tapered roller bearing (5)

 Lubricate with lubricating grease. Apply the specified grease quantity.

Install the stop washer (6)

Install the inner slotted nut (7), the lock (8) and the outer slotted nut (9)
