Remove/install

Remove exhaust system.

Drain rear axle differential oil.

Support rear axle differential (50) and tie down securely.



Remove bolts (3).

 Bolt, rear axle differential to rear transverse bridge

Remove screw (5).

 Rear axle differential to front adapter

Lower rear axle differential (50) until screws (52s) are accessible.


Do not lower the rear axle differential (50) too far.
Otherwise the drive shafts (37) will be damaged.

Remove spacer ring (9).

Remove screws (52s) and take off end cover (52).


Carefully loosen end cover (52) using a screwdriver or assembly lever for example. Do not damage sealing surfaces.
Otherwise, leaks may occur.

 Installation: Apply sealant to the sealing surface on the end cover (52).

Clean sealing surfaces on rear axle differential (50) and on end cover (52).

Assembly cleaner

Install in the reverse order.

Check rear axle differential (50) for leak tightness.
