Detach pinion housing (1)



Install

Coat the sealing surfaces of the pinion housing (1), differential assembly housing (3) and shim (2) with sealing compound

 Coat sealing surfaces of all 3 parts individually with sealant.

Attach pinion housing (1)

 Fit spacer washer (2) onto differential assembly housing (3) such that the oil duct is kept clear.

Determine installed dimension "A" of drive pinion

 Measure from the center of the tapered roller bearing support on the axle housing to the end face of the drive pinion The installed dimension measured must match the basic dimension engraved on the drive pinion or ring gear.

In the event of a difference between the installed dimension and basic dimension:



Detach pinion housing (1) and install again with a suitable shim (2).
