Spreader
The following special tool is used: spreader (01)
1 | Mark installation position of bearing brackets, tapered roller bearing outer races and shims. |
The parts must be installed in their original installation position again. |
2 | Detach both bearing brackets (16). |

3 | Mount spreader (01) and tension until ring gear with differential can be removed from rear axle housing without excessive force being required. |
4 | Loosen and remove spreader (01). |
