1 Using a depth caliper gage (1), measure the distance from the contact surface of the steering knuckle (2) to the kingbolt (3). Note down dimension "A".

2 Using a depth caliper gage (1), measure from the sliding disk (4) to the contact surface of the end cover (5). Note down dimension "B".
Calculate axial play of steering knuckle 3
Dimension "A" dimension "B"= axial play
4 If there is a deviation from the specified value, adjust the axial play using a suitable sliding disk.
