1 | Remove brake disk from front axle. | ||
2 | Remove anti-lock braking system (ABS) rpm sensor. | ||
3 | Unscrew nut (5) and remove thrust plate (4). | ||
4 | Attach assembly sleeve to steering knuckle spindle (2). | Assembly sleeve | |
5 | Detach wheel hub (3) through the assembly sleeve from steering knuckle spindle (2). | ||
6 | Remove assembly sleeve from steering knuckle spindle (2). | ||
7 | Remove protective ring (7) from steering knuckle (1). | ||
8 | Remove ABS pulse ring (6) from wheel hub (3). | Only when replacing ABS pulse ring (6). | |
| Install | ||
9 | Mount new ABS pulse ring (6) onto wheel hub (3). | Only when replacing wheel hub (3) or ABS pulse ring (6). | |
10 | Clean steering knuckle spindle (2) thoroughly using wire brush and fine-grained emery cloth. | ||
11 | Attach new protective ring (7) to steering knuckle (1). | ||

12 | Attach assembly sleeve to steering knuckle spindle (2). | Assembly sleeve | |
13 | Coat sealing lip of protective ring (7) with lubricant. | MB multipurpose grease, 5 kg | |
14 | Coat steering knuckle spindle (2) in area of bearing seat of wheel hub (3) with lubricant. | Multi-purpose paste | |
15 | Mount wheel hub (3) over assembly sleeve up to end stop on steering knuckle spindle (2). | ||
16 | Remove assembly sleeve from steering knuckle spindle (2). | ||
17 | Fit new nut (5) with new thrust plate (4). | First tighten nut (5) while constantly turning wheel hub (3) to 1st stage. | |

19 | Install brake disk on front axle. |
