| Remove | ||
1 | Remove brake disk. | ||
2 | Release collar nut (5). | ||
3 | Remove collar nut (5) and take off thrust plate (4). | Socket wrench | |
4 | Screw assembly sleeve onto kingpin (1). | Assembly sleeve | |
5 | Remove wheel hub (3) from kingpin (1) over assembly sleeve. | ||
6 | Remove ABS pulse ring (2) from wheel hub (3). | Only if ABS pulse ring (2) is damaged. | |
| Install | ||
7 | Install new ABS pulse ring (2). | Only if ABS pulse ring (2) was removed or if wheel hub (3) is to be replaced. | |
Drift | |||
8 | Clean machined surface of kingpin (1) thoroughly around entire circumference. | Use wire brush first and then fine-grained emery cloth. | |
9 | Coat cleaned surface of kingpin (1) around entire circumference with paste. | Multi-purpose paste | |
10 | Slide wheel hub (3) over assembly sleeve up to contact surface on kingpin (1). | ||
11 | Remove assembly sleeve from kingpin (1). | ||
12 | Attach new collar nut (5) with new thrust plate (4). | Attach collar nut (5) while constantly turning wheel hub (3) far enough until wheel hub (3) is lying against steering knuckle. | |

13 | Secure collar nut (5). | ||
14 | Install brake disk. |
