Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Lift vehicle with lifting platform.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) of absolute sensor transfer case (B57).

Remove screws (5).

 Screw/bolt, absolute sensor to transfer case

Remove absolute sensor transfer case (B57).

 Installation:
The guides of the absolute sensor transfer case (B57) must engage in the grooves in the transfer case (1).
Damage will otherwise occur.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run; while doing so check transfer case (1) for proper operation.
