Remove

1

Remove transfer case.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (2) using a suitable tool.


Do not damage the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (2) in the transfer case.
Leakage will otherwise occur.

Remove support ring (3).

Remove boot (4).

5

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) for damage.

If damage is present,



Replace transfer case.



Install

Mount guide (1) onto drive shaft.

Lubricate sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (2) with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.17)

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring (2).

Position radial shaft sealing ring (2) in opening.

Press in radial shaft sealing ring (2) with drift (6) until the drift (6) makes contact with the housing.

Remove guide (1).

Fit protection (5) to output shaft.

 Drift

Moisten boot (4) on inside with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.17)

Slide boot (4) with support ring (3) onto protection (5).

Press in support ring (3) with drift (7) until the drift (7) lies on the housing.

Install transfer case.
