Dismantling and assembling clutch K2

Disassembly

1

Remove snap ring (11) from outer multi-disc carrier (1)

Remove disc assembly (6, 8 and 10) from outer multi-disc carrier (1)

 Check inner multi-discs for signs of scorching and wear

Immerse new inner multi-discs in ATF oil for approx. 1 hour before installing

Fit assembly device (020) on spring plate (4), compress and remove snap ring (5)

Remove spring plate (4) and springs (3)

 Note number of springs.

Do not confuse the springs from clutch K1 and clutch K2

Pull piston (2) out of outer multi-disc carrier (1)

Remove radial lip-type sealing rings (12/13) from piston



Assembly

Install piston (2) in outer multi-disc carrier (1)

Sleeve

Install spring plate (4) and springs (3)

Fit assembly device (020) on spring plate (4), compress and install snap ring (5)

 Check for proper seating

Insert snap ring (11)



Measuring

Use a feeler gauge to measure play "A"

 Adjust play if necessary with the snap ring (11)

Snap rings are available as replacement parts in thicknesses of 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 mm

 Additional correction with the inner multi-discs is only necessary if the specified play "A" cannot be achieved with the snap ring

 Inner multi-discs are available as replacement parts in thicknesses of 4.5 and 5.0 mm
