Dismantling and assembling clutch K1

Dismantling

1

Remove snap ring (11) from outer multiple-disc carrier (1)

Remove multiple-disc package (6, 7, 8 and 10) and remove disc spring (15)

 Check inner multiple discs for scorch marks and wear

Place new inner multiple discs in transmission fluid for approximately 1 hour before installing

Install mounting device (020) on the spring plate (4) and clamp until the snap ring (5) is exposed



Remove snap ring (5)

Remove spring plate (4) and compressions springs (3)

 Note number of compression springs.

Do not mix up springs from clutches K1 and K2

Pull piston (2) out of outer multiple-disc carrier (1)

Remove lip seals (12/13) from piston

 Check lip seals and replace if necessary

Remove snap ring (16) from outer multiple-disc carrier (1)

Remove piston guide ring (18)

10

Remove sealing ring (17)



Assembling

Install new sealing ring (17)

Insert piston guide ring (18)

Install snap ring (16) in outer multiple-disc carrier (1)

Install piston K1 in outer multiple-disc carrier

Install spring plate (4) and compression springs (3)

Mount mounting device (020) on the spring plate (4) and clamp until the groove of the snap ring (5) is exposed



Insert snap ring (5)

 Check for correct seating

Install disc spring (15) and multiple-disc package (6, 7, 8 and 10) in outer multiple-disc carrier (1)

Place disc spring with the curve on the piston

Observe clutch multiple disc sequence (see cutout)

Install snap ring (11)

After inserting, press up the entire periphery of the snap ring upwards using a screwdriver



Measuring

Determine clearance "A" using a feeler gauge and adjust with snap ring (11) if necessary

 Snap rings are available as spare parts in thicknesses, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 mm

Only if the specified clearance "A" is not achieved with the snap ring, must an adjustment also be made with inner multiple discs

Inner multiple discs are available as spare parts in thicknesses, 4.5 and 5.0 mm
