Disassemble

Notes on automatic transmission

Remove axial bearing from outer plate carrier (14a)

Remove retaining ring (105s) and end disk (105)

Remove clutch pack (5) and disk spring (5t)

 Check disks for scorch marks and wear.

Place multidisk clutch in lever press

Place thrust device on piston cover (14b)

  Position thrust device precisely to enable the retaining ring (14s) to be removed later.

Actuate lever press until the retaining ring (14s) is exposed


Stop lever press stoke as soon as accessibility to groove is sufficient.
Excess force can cause damage.

Remove retaining ring (14s) from groove

Move back lever press

Take thrust device and multidisk clutch out of lever press

Remove retaining ring (14s) and piston cover (14b)

Remove spring support (14f)

Remove piston (14k)

 Check vulcanized-on seal for damage; replace piston (14k) if necessary.



Assemble

Install piston (14k)

Insert spring support (14f)

Insert piston cover (14b)

Fit retaining ring (14s)

 Final installation is only possible when the lever press is actuated.

Place multidisk clutch in lever press

Place thrust device on piston cover (14b)

  Position the thrust device precisely to enable the retaining ring (14s) to be removed later.

Actuate lever press until groove (arrow) is exposed, and install retaining ring (14s)



Move back lever press

Take thrust device and multidisk clutch out of lever press

Install disk spring (5t) and clutch pack (5) in external plate carrier (14a)

 Insert the disk spring (5t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (14k).

Install end disk (105) and retaining ring (105s)



Measure

Measure and adjust clearance
