2 | Check axial bearing (161), bearing (162), contact surfaces and sealing rings (arrow A) for swirl marks and damage. | The axial bearing (161) and bearing (162) form one unit with the outer plate carrier (16a) and can only be replaced together. | |

3 | Remove retaining ring (105s). | ||
4 | Remove end disk (105). | ||
5 | Remove clutch pack (5). | ||
6 | Remove disk spring (5t). | ||

7 | Check clutch pack (5) for scorch marks and wear. | If scorch marks or worn disks are apparent. | |

Replace affected disks. | |||
8 | Place outer plate carrier (16a) with torque converter housing into lever-type hand gun. | Commercially available devices/tools | |
9 | Place thrust device onto disk spring (16t). | Position thrust device precisely (arrow B). This enables later removal of the retaining ring (16s). | |

20 | Install disk spring (16t). | Insert disk spring (16t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (16k). | |
21 | Fit retaining ring (16s). | Final installation is only possible when the lever press is actuated. | |
22 | Place outer plate carrier (16a) with torque converter housing into lever-type hand gun. | ||
23 | Place thrust device onto disk spring (16t). | Position thrust device precisely (arrow B). This enables later installation of the retaining ring (16s). | |
