Determine shim thickness. |
Thickness of shim = dimension a – dimension b – specified value of axial play. |
Example calculation:
Dimension a 49.70 mm
– Dimension b – 49.00 mm
Actual value of axial play 0.70 mm
– Specified value of axial play – 0.30 mm
Thickness of shim 0.40 mm
Shims are available in thicknesses of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm.
Only one shim may be fitted.
