Lower transmission (1) carefully


Do not crush any detachable parts or place them under tension.
The engine must not make contact with the front axle carrier or the major assemblies compartment partition.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Remove bolts (5)

 Standard bolt/hexagon-spacer bolt, shift module (ISM) to transmission housing

Remove intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) with vent hose (6)


If the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) is to be reused, do not detach the vent hose (6).
Otherwise, the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) will leak and be damaged.

 Installation: The positions of the range selector shaft (7) and the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) must match.
If necessary, turn the range selector shaft (7) accordingly.

Replace vent hose (6)

When replacing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).

Rotate the range selector shaft (7) of the transmission (1) counterclockwise up to the end stop at position D (arrow)

When replacing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).

 In its as-delivered state, a new intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) is set to position D (arrow).

Check sealing ring (8) of range selector shaft (7) for damage or leakage

If a problem arises



Replace sealing ring (8).
