Notes on automatic transmission
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system and transfer data from electrohydraulic controller unit (1) to vehicle diagnosis system. | If electrohydraulic controller unit (1) is replaced.
| Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit | ||
2 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key.
3 | Disconnect electrical connector from automatic transmission.
4 | Remove oil pan (6) from automatic transmission.
5 | Remove oil filter (5). | To do so, detach oil filter (5) downwards. The oil filter (5) is replaced.
6 | Remove electrohydraulic controller unit (1).
To do this, remove bolts (9) .
If the electrohydraulic controller unit (1) is jammed,
| |||
use suitable tool to pry electrohydraulic controller unit (1) off transmission housing (3).
| Install | ||
7 | Install electrohydraulic controller unit (1).
Topical note | Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process
| |||
Replace O-rings (10), bolts (9) and plain coupler (4).
Screw/bolt, electrohydraulic controller unit to transmission housing
8 | Install new oil filter (5).
9 | Install oil pan (6). | ||
Do not add transmission oil yet and do not check oil level yet.
| Clean | ||
10 | Clean electrical coupling (2). | Assembly cleaner
11 | Connect electrical connector to automatic transmission.
Bolt, heat shield to transmission housing
12 | Read out fault memory using vehicle diagnosis system.
| Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit | ||
Clear existing errors.
13 | Perform transmission adaptation using vehicle diagnosis system. | If electrohydraulic controller unit (1) was replaced or repaired.
| Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit | ||
14 | Transfer stored data from vehicle diagnosis system into new electric controller unit (1). | If electrohydraulic controller unit (1) was replaced.
| Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit | ||
15 | Add transmission oil to automatic transmission.
The function and leak tightness of the automatic transmission are checked here. To expel any air pockets from the electrohydraulic controller unit (1), shift through the automatic transmission several times before commissioning. |
